Achhedin for Jammu and Kashmir

In an announcement that brought huge cheer from the listening crowd, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that his government at the centre will give a Rs 80,000 crore package for the development of Jammu & Kashmir.

Stating that 'Sab ka Saath, Sabka Vikas' was the mantra of his government, PM Modi stressed on the need to create jobs and harness the tourism industry potential of the state. Modi said he wanted to make Kashmir a dream destination for tourists.

PM addressed a public rally during his day-long visit to Jammu and Kashmir. He said that in the past, when people had some money, they wanted to visit Kashmir. He added that he wanted to bring those days back.

"I want to bring back the glorious days of J&K, restore tourism flow to Kashmir. The top most priority is to offer jobs to youth," he said.

A special aircraft carrying the prime minister landed at Srinagar International Airport around 11.20 a.m.

Modi was flown in an army helicopter to the Badami Bagh Cantonment helipad from where he reached the Sher-e-Kashmir cricket stadium in a special cavalcade.

Governor N.N. Vohra, Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, senior ministers of the ruling PDP-BJP government, senior civil and army officers received Modi at the airport.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is accompanying Modi, while Minister of State PMO Jitendra Singh, who arrived on Friday, was among those who received Modi at the airport.

Hundred villages of Jharkhand has been selected under Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana

The Central Government has selected 100 villages of Jharkhand under Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana. These villages will be equipped with all fundamental facilities. Chief Minister Mr. Raghubar Das said that villages having more than 50% Schedule Tribe population will be considered for this. The Central Government is giving 20 lac for thwe development & the additional 20 lac will be given by the State Government. 36 villages from Chatra, 22 from Palamu, 18 from Deoghar,14 from Hazaribag & 10 from Giridih district have been identified for Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana.    1 view  •  Written 1m ago Upvotes 0 Comment Share
