India to save Rs 30,000 crore in FY16 by cutting down coal imports

This year, imports are already down by 16% resulting in savings of Rs 22,000 crore so far. India will save Rs 30,000 crore in 2015-16 by cutting down on coal imports as domestic production has picked up. The government is aiming to completely eliminate the import of the kind of coal that is available domestically. Coal India, the state-run company that is the largest coal producer in the country, plans to double its production to 1 billion tonne by 2020. It would have scaled up production to 550 million tonne which is likely to increase to 600 million tonne next year. Typically, Indian coal is almost 40% cheaper than imported coal. Make in India: Apple supplier Delta setup R&D centres in India

Delta's new R&D centre, Bangalore Delta was one of the multinational companies invited by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi , to the opening event of “ Digital India ” in July 2015. Delta India plans to develop smart energy management solutions at its new R&D centre which is expected to create up to 500 engineering jobs within the next 3 years. Within the next 10 years, Delta’s new factory in Hosur will create up to 20,000 jobs for the manufacturing of power electronics, renewable energy and automation solutions. Delta India Electronics has announced the expansion of its R&D and manufacturing operations with new facilities in Bangalore and Hosur respectively. Delta India plans to develop smart energy management solutions at its new R&D centre. Govt launches Job portal for Persons with disabilities

A job portal exclusively for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) has been launched to assist differently-abled person in getting a job. Through the National Job Portal, PwDs will be able to avail the different facilities such as self employment loan, education loan, skill training, link to scholarships and information about jobs in a single window platform. “Government has given very high priority to skill training programme for persons with disabilities and has a target for skilling five lakh persons in next three years. The skill training will be provided by a network of 200 clusters of ‘Training Partners’ with financial assistance from government.
